Amazing Honey Bee

The Amazing Honey Bee is an education program for students of all ages.  Lisa Flurie, the beekeeper, was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  She became interested in beekeeping because she was using beeswax in molds and making Christmas decorations.  She joined the Beekeepers Association of Broward Country and was trained by Mr. Onody, an 85 year old beekeeper from Hungary, who was a beekeeper since he was 15 years old.  The Beekeeper Association was getting requests from schools in the area to bring their bees into the classroom.  The beekeepers trained Lisa to make presentations in school for students of all ages.  The program became very popular in Fort Lauderdale's public and private schools.  Lisa recently moved to Ocala, Florida and is living on a farm where she is keeping bees.  She is continuing her Amazing Honey Bee program in the Marion County and Central Florida Public and Private Schools and private functions for home school students, girl scouts, boy scouts and 4 H clubs.
